Start the new year with a clean slate they say–whoever they are. My once white slate is so darkened by erasures of events going back eons, I can barely read the carry-overs from 2023.
This new January already has weekly prayer meetings, a blood draw and a doctor’s appointment. Next is a weekly Bible study, great-granddaughter’s birthday, and weekly Greek and Hebrew classes. Nope, 2024 definitely isn’t looking like a new year.
My slate may already be too full. What I really need are blank ones where I can record each day’s blessings and Holy Spirit surprises as well as the ways He has met me in the mundane, dire, and joy-filled circumstances of my life. When every day is a new day in which to praise and thank God, who needs a new year?
Happy New Day Everyone.
